John 4:43-54
“The Facts of Biblical Faith”
September 22, 2024 Dr. Don Bazal
Hebrews 11:1,6 is pictured and played out before our eyes in these verses and in this man’s life in John’s gospel. Here we see clearly the facts of biblical truth.
Hebrews 11:1,6 – Now faith is the assurance of things hoped for, the conviction of things not seen. . .6 And without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is and that He is a rewarder of those who seek Him.
JESUS THE PERFECTOR OF OUR FAITH
Hebrews 12:2 – Fixing our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of faith, who for the joy set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.
Mark 6:4-5 – Jesus said to them, “A prophet is not without honor except in his hometown and among his own relatives and in his own household.” 5 And He could do no miracle there except that He laid His hands on a few sick people and healed them.
THE PROGRESSION OF BIBLICAL FAITH
Ephesians 3:20 – Now to Him who is able to do far more abundantly beyond all that we ask or think, according to the power that works within us,
Luke 23:8 – Now Herod was very glad when he saw Jesus; for he had wanted to see Him for a long time, because he had been hearing about Him and was hoping to see some sign performed by Him.
Romans 10:17 – So faith comes from hearing, and hearing by the word of Christ.
Colossians 3:16 – Let the word of Christ richly dwell within you, with all wisdom
teaching and admonishing one another with psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with thankfulness in your hearts to God.
Hebrews 11:9-10,13,27 – By faith he lived as an alien in the land of promise, as in a foreign land, dwelling in tents with Isaac and Jacob, fellow heirs of the same promise; 10 for he was looking for the city which has foundations, whose architect and builder is God. . . 13 All these died in faith, without receiving the promises, but having seen them and having welcomed them from a distance, and having confessed that they were strangers and exiles on the earth. . . 27 By faith he left Egypt, not fearing the wrath of the king; for he endured, as seeing Him who is unseen.
Matthew 21:22 – And all things you ask in prayer, believing, you will receive.”
Hebrews 11:1 – Now faith is the assurance of things hoped for, the conviction of things not seen.
